Robert Phillips
Founder
Robert took up ownership of Benula Sporting Estate in 2019 following 20 years of service in the British Army and many years of hunting and stalking. Since arriving at Benula, Robert and his partner Kate have been focused on the full renovation of the estate and an upgrade of the facilities, which included the purchase of the estate’s new MS Boat landing craft, full refurbishment of the larder, and the current re-build of the stalking cottage & renovation of the bothy.
Angus Hughes
Estate Manager
Angus has been the estate’s professional stalker for over 20 years, his intricate knowledge of the loch and the deer forest helps to ensure the extremely high success rate of deer stalking outings at Benula. Angus is also a team leader with the local Mountain Rescue Service and is trained as a first aid responder.
Eva
Bavarian Mountain Hound
As a Bavarian Mountain Hound, Eva is a natural when it comes to tracking work on steep mountain slopes, making her the perfect dog for a Highland estate. Eva possesses an outstanding tracking ability and she is never more at home than when she’s out on the hills scent tracking. After a hard day of stalking, you can usually find Eva curled up in front of the fireplace dreaming of her next stalking adventure.
Our Boat
A recent addition to the facilities at Benula is our new MS Boat landing craft. Described as ‘a work boat with a sporty touch’ there really is no better way to travel on the loch. The MS 690 provides guests with a large open space on board, offering plenty of room to move around the vessel and appreciate the stunning Highland views.
